This morning, Greenlight Academy ventured off to the Sikorsky Airport to learn about harnessing the winds power to create energy. The session started out with a retired United Technology Engineer who spoke to the class about windmills. After a group discussion, and Q&A, the class began building their own wind powered models.
The class was held at one ofr the Sikorsky Hangers in Stratford.
Here is the Greenlight Academy class of 2009 at Sikorsky Airport, Stratford, CT

Here the students break into small groups to build the model windmills

In the Hanger a number of Aircraft are being used for training.

A small group begins pulling the parts together as they assemble the windmill.

Greenlight Academy student strategize on the most efficient way to begin building. A sketch must be completed before the actual model is developed.
